Great fun & very effective

The recipes are amazingly quick and easy to make as you're mainly using ingredients which are already in your kitchen. I tried a few and will carry on till I decide which are my favourites. So far, I've particularly enjoyed the various Yogurt Masks, and the Baking Soda Scrub was really good, making my skin feel incredibly soft and smooth.

Great Natural Scrubs & Masks

I like the idea of creating homemade beauty products - I have very sensitive skin and too often am allergic to ingredients in store-bought beauty products. Trying to decipher the ingredients printed on products gets my eyes all blurry and I'm usually none the wiser. This book has a shopping list of basic ingredients to use and their respective health benefits. One item new to me is raw potatoes - who knew they could be good for the skin? Other interesting ingredients include ground coffee and fruits. The author shares many recipes for homemade scrubs and masks. I wish she elaborated on suitability for skin types. I've tried the Toning Cucumber Mask and Calming Oats Mask- the effect is much better than similar store-bought masks. Traditional Bulgarian Strained Yoghurt Mask sounds interesting, I'll have to try that one out - if it works for generations of Bulgarian women, it should work for me!

Great Natural Facial Recipes

Vesela always delights me with her recipes. I love that she always uses natural ingredients. This book includes recipes for scrubs and masks. In the intro, she explains what the scrubs and masks are for and the benefits of the different ingredients that she uses. Then you get a few dozen different recipes. There is a chocolate coffee scrub that I can't wait to try. While she recommends using many of these treatments fresh, I think there are a few that would preserve well and might make good homemade gifts...I would recommend this book if you like to make your own beauty products.
