Really juvenile and kind of stupid (warning SPOLIERS)
By Moriaelini
5% of the way through, and the main character has complained about not wanting to date one of her male friends - despite them having a friends with benefits arrangement and him wanting more - because she doesn't want to ruin the friendship. But then she turns around and starts thinking about trying to date another of her male friends - one who other friends say is really just a manwhore - because she thinks she can change him. Apparently she has stopped caring about losing any of these guys as friends. It makes no sense and the main character sounds like a complete idiot. Fast forward to neither of the situations working out and suddenly manwhore is seriously dating someone, so is hook-up dude, and our 'heroine' is all whiney and emo about her best girl friend getting married and being with her 'perfect man' blah blah. Continual references to how you just know when 'the one' comes along as well as ridiculous waffling about by the main character made this excruciating to read. I only finished it to see where it would go and to add more fuel to my review. Finally she ends up with a third close guy friend that there were previously zero sparks with much less any kind of attraction whatsoever and I can only end the book with the feeling that the author is trying to tell me that we all must settle just so we can be with someone. Yes, I realize that the heroine and the third guy were really good friends before, but there was NOTHING there but that. NOTHING. So to have them suddenly end up together felt rushed, contrived and just plain stupid. I also felt as though the author was telling all those idiots who blather on and on about being 'friend-zoned', that their one sided crushes really can turn into something if they just wait it out. Hogwash. People are either into you or they are not, and I got the overwhelming feeling that this 'heroine' was just dating the guy because he was there and she was desperate to be in a relationship. Did I mention that the main character was in her 30s? Yeah, this kind of behavior seems almost typical for jr. high and high school...even early 20s, but if you are still doing it at 31 maybe you need to pull your head out of your butt and grow up. So very glad this was free.

Not that enjoyable!
By pegan
Seems like this was written in haste to get a book out there. Very trite dialogue. Nothing deeply developed. Hard to believe that Kate was the same character as in The One That Got Away! She was weak, needy, and lacked deep thinking skills. Very disappointed.

Not bad for Light reading
By Avidear
The book was pleasant and easy to read. The plot was a little thin but at least it was a bit different to the usual romance. There were no major twists and turns that keep you guessing - just a cute story about a girl who enjoys the company of a group of male friends and finds that she cant distinguish between friendship and love. She sorts it out in the end but its a little predictable. Overall, not bad but no classic.
