Change Your Body, Change Your Life

It sounds like a radical statement and believe me, I don't say it lightly. I'd hidden my body under polo necks for so long, I'd forgotten I ever had a cleavage. I watched younger women around me in the supermarket with a kind of awe. I knew I had looked like that once but it seemed like such a distant memory, there's no way I could ever imagine that I could look like that again. I mean seriously, I can't emphasise this enough, I'd literally lived in polo necks and push up bras for about eight years. I started slow with this book. For a month I just did the wall and knee press ups. As I started to feel stronger, I moved on to the harder exercises, the chest press and the push-ups. Within two months I had moved onto the combo exercises. Now I spend a half hour every morning. I've changed my wardrobe, changed my attitude, changed how I deal with my kids, everything has changed and all because I decided to do a little exercise.

Push-Up and Go Around the World

When I first looked at this book, I thought, `those exercises can't work, they look too easy.' I thought for exercise to be effective you had to spend hours in a gym sweating like a builder. This book showed me that it's a gradual build up of muscle strength that really makes the difference and while the exercises look easy, if you're doing the properly, they burn just as much. I started doing the push-ups because I thought they'd be easy. Actually it took me a month to build up to do thirty. Then I got weights and started to do the chest press. After that I got one of those gym balls and started doing press ups that way. Finally I moved on to around the world arm exercises, which involves using the gym ball and the weights. Whoa, that was really tough at first, much harder than it looks but man, what a difference. These exercises may be simple but there's nothing simple about the results. They're amazing.

Nicely illustrated

I was happy to see illustrations of the exercises, and in some cases, they appear animated when you flip the page. Good job lining up the images! :)

I see a few that can be done at home, but most of them require a gym, unless you already own a bench and a set of barbells or dumbbells.

Not sure if the home-only exercises will do the job, but I'm going to try. :)
