Lucy is a part time waitress at a local museum and she only took the job for one reason. Edward. Edward does tours at the museum. In order for Lucy to get even close to him she has decided to take some tours so she can see what he is like. Turns out he has a dominate personality. Lucy is going to do everything in her power to get Edward to notice her. Is Lucy naughty or tough enough for Edward? Guess you are going to have to read it for your self to find out. It's a short story so I don't want to give it all away. It is set around the holidays so if your up for some naughty festive reading than this is perfect.

A Seasonal Victorian Spanking: Demelza Hart, 'Willing Spirit, Hungry Flesh'

I don't normally write reviews, and while I do read the general bodice rippers, I haven't read much harder erotic fiction. I am, however, an avid reader of many different genres and appreciate well-written and conceived plots. I stumbled upon this anthology while looking for some romantic ghostly stories (rather than ghosts that want to rip our your innards and laugh evilly while doing so). I'm done with vampires, and never had much interest in werewolves, so the search has been long and disappointing. I was very happy to find Demelza Hart's story. And, even better, I enjoyed it immensely. The author is an excellent writer, which is a joy in itself (simply because I am not distracted by any inner grammar angst), and she set up the story and the plot nicely- even though it is a short story. At no point did I ever feel that she was simply flinging an excuse for a plot at me as a reader as an after thought for her story, which was nice. I have to admit that after I finished reading Ms. Hart's story, I was rather sad that I have no handsome, smexy ghost that will visit me over the holidays! I may have to search out more of Ms. Hart's writing.

Not bad, they had pretty good plots. There were a few errors but not enough to distract away from stories. Lots of spankings without being overly raunchy.

From the Author
Readers are always asking me just how much of this book is true.  While this novel is entirely fictional, many larger-than-life characters and "tall tales" are inspired by real people and events I encountered while flying the Alaska bush in the summer of'87.
For example, in Chapter 3, Eagle & Salmon, the scene where an eagle with a salmon in its talons flies inches over the boys' heads while they're chatting on the Juneau Airport ramp, happened to me.  It remains one of the most breathtaking scenes in my life.  And in Chapter 22, The Sky Fell, DC faces the bush pilot's ultimate fear.  That experience also happened to me, and proved to be a watershed moment in my flying career.  Readers of my blog at capnaux.com will recall the true story in my post, The Sky Fell.  Moreover, the way both pilots handle their emergency landings come from hours plying the Southeast Alaska skies, contemplating exactly just what I would do if faced with those situations.
In another incident that inspired a subplot for this book, I did indeed fly three orphaned bear cubs.  As in the novel, a poacher killed their momma sow.  While those real-life cubs found homes in zoos in the Lower Forty-Eight, I wanted to spin a fun yarn exacting poetic justice on said poacher; hence, the Doyle brothers in the book.  And, by the way, bear cubs really do stink to high heaven!
Some minor facts have been altered to serve the story.  For example, Etolin Island, not Pleasant Island, contains the Roosevelt Elk herd.  I also have to confess that real-life credit for character Ralph Olaphsen's genius "volcanic" April First hoax goes to one Oliver "Porky" Bickar.
A major theme that shapes this book is Alaska; the land, the people, their way of life.  But Alaska's dominating trait, in this book and in real life, is the weather.  In The Last Bush Pilots, Mother Nature is personified as the Ultimate Adversary, and modern day bush pilots would do well to think of Her as such.  She dominates every decision we make, from how much fuel to take, what route to fly, even whether to launch or not.  To that end, the most accurate scenes in this book, I believe, are the ones that take place in the air.*
I may have only spent a scant summer season in that magical land called Alaska, but the lessons and impressions stuck with me for life.
And inspired this novel.

So as a pilot and lover of Alaska I found this book and thus began my adventure. I cannot say how impressed I was with this book or how well it is written. I can truly tell this book was written by a pilot for pilots, but with a storyline anyone will love. If you love aviation and love Alaska this is the book for you! I loved it so much I emailed the author and within the day he replied with very gracias words and insight to his upcoming writings. I just ordered my next Eric Auxier book!

Guess I'm The Odd Man Out

I gotta say, I really didn't like it.

First of all, Lanie was immature and a real witch to Noel for at least the first half of the book. She ran so hot and cold I was getting dizzy. Yet he just kept chuckling through her put downs and brush offs. I found that to be very unrealistic. She's not worth it buddy.

Then once they get together, he gets crappy with her, keeping a BIG secret (that I figured out very early on in the book - yet she lived with him for 2 weeks and didn't know?) and later when she finds out, he manipulates her all under the guise of 'Noel gets what he wants'.

The BIG secret is that prior to reconnecting with Lanie, Noel supposedly slept with the lead guitarist's girlfriend one single time, doesn't remember it, and yet believes the girl when she says it is his baby. So for some reason he agrees to pretend to be her boyfriend until the baby is born so she does not look slutty. What? She cheats on her boyfriend with his best friend, sneaks in his bed when he is drunk and/or passed out, and he believes her and helps to protect her reputation? All while he cannot figure out how it could be his kid??

So Lanie decides to dump Noel since he MIGHT be having a baby with another woman; a woman he has never had feelings for. What year is this, 1945? I could see them agreeing to lay low until the baby is born and the DNA test, but why would that end their relationship? He doesn't plan to marry the other woman or be involved with her once the baby is born, other than as a co-parent. Why couldn't he plan a future with Lanie and share custody with his (supposed) child?

The final straw for me was when they all find out, at the same time, that the baby belongs to the body guard and the girl lied to protect his job. So here is Noel, who supposedly loves Lanie and just found out that he is off the hook and they can be together, and what does he do? He storms off by himself and leaves Lanie standing there! No, he does not embrace Lanie and tell her how much he loves her and plans a future. Instead he storms off and Lanie leaves the tour and goes home. Alone.

I thought the whole characters were immature and I felt their actions sometimes made no sense other than to extend the length of the book.

Also, I found the fist person perspective annoying.

What do you say about a book that just did everything for you. You had me at "This next song goes out to the girl that shredded my heart without hesitation back in High school.It's called Ball Busting Bitch Lanie this one's for you. Lol!! I knew I loved Noel because he still loved Lanie and wasn't over her. The ride of their journey was passionate and sometimes sad. But when you ended with Noel singing Faitfully my favorite song, honey you broke me. (Tears)You have a fan for life but you need to hurry up already with pt 2.

About the Author

I. M. Dharmadasa has worked in semiconductor research since becoming a Ph.D. student at Durham University in 1977. His interest in the electrodeposition of thin-film solar cells began when he joined the Appolo Project at BP Solar in 1988. He continued this area of research on joining Sheffield Hallam University in 1990. He has 80 refereed papers, six patents and over 100 conference presentations, and five book contributions, and he has successfully supervised 10 research degree candidates and nine years of PDRA support. He has gained research council and internal University funding and is currently working with a group of industrial partners (Ionotec Ltd, Pilkington plc, and ICP Solar UK) to commercialize the new research findings with the UK Government’s DTI-funding.

Dharmadasa is also actively involved in the public awareness work on applications of renewable energy in the society. He was the key person in initiating SAREP (South Asia Renewable Energy Programme), which is now becoming an international programme for the promotion of renewables. He is the editor of SAREP newsletter and has designed a "Village Power" programme using solar power to empower rural communities for the reduction of poverty.
