This is the fourth book in the Plague Series that I've read (including Reapers Run which is a sideline story between books one and two.

In this episode the primary focus is trying to put the USA back together. We have an ex-Marine Master Sargeant who has survived the different plagues, fought for the Free Communities and even saved the powerless President of the US and got reinstated as a Soldier.

The goal now is to reestablish the Eastern Coast which has been hammered by Nuclear Weapons and three different Plagues as well as being anti-Eden Plague so many humans are still 'normal'.

At the same time, we see more on the machinations of those that want more than just what the Eden Plague gave them. We have Nano-commandos with awesome abilities but the nano-machines are a danger to the soldiers that carry them.

Nice progress on a couple of the characters as well.

Mr. Van Dyke has got a good thing flowing with these books. I'd love them to be a bit longer though, maybe 300 pages or so.

One h*ll of a good series!

I found this amazing series from book bub. I was able to download the first 3 books for free and man did I get hooked. With the Eden Plague spreading and the Meme's plagues falling the Earth is in trouble. Skull is stuck out in space in cryo sleep and the rest are fighting a monumental battle to save the human race. Will earth's first battleship that Spooky got started be enough? This is one of the best apocalyptic series I've read. It's refreshing for a series to start well before the apocalypse and explain how it all happened. Do yourself a favor and start this series. I got The Reaper Plague free for my honest review!

Plague Wars Book 3 - Just keeps getting better!

I've been off reading other things for the past couple of weeks and have failed to leave feedback for my now favorite Science Fiction author, who writes REAL Science Fiction.

Because Mr. VanDyke has become my favorite author of late and has kept me supplied with the Plague Series thus far, I can only tell you that I am totally taken with the story line and the characters. Jill Repeth (Master Sargeant?) is becoming more of a main character. If you remember she was on a cruise ship which was attacked, she lost her legs, they regrew because of the Eden Plague. Now, in the third book they are marching up to Richmond, paralleling the Civil War, to gather forces to fight off the soon-to-be-third plague dropped by the aliens. Yes, aliens! I know, it just gets better. After the first two plagues, those who have not been protected by the Eden Plague are loosely called the Onesies and the Twosies. The Twosies are the target of the evil aliens who are trying to return us humans to pure animal with no intelligence at all so that they can come and take us over, using our human bodies because they are just giant globs. Meantime, back at the ranch, so to speak, Raphaela (who was an alien blob, albiet a good one, who blended with a human and is a wonderful person) and Skull, who is developing real feelings but unknowing and preggie Raphaela has put him in deep freeze for their return trip to Earth.

I absolutely LOVE this series of books. As I have tried to relay the wonderful goings on of the characters to my 44-year-old son, he says that Hollywood should be looking at David VanDyke and that the Plaque Series should be a TV Series.
