About the Author
Paragliding was Apostolos' love and passion for over 20 years. He is a four time champion of Greece, and has participated in various international competitions as a member of the Greek National Team.

An extraordinary book

This book pulls you into the strange world that author experienced while in intensive care. It is full of strange and dreamlike images that are sad but at the same time profound. So many of the images revolve around paragliding, that you can't help but feel sad knowing that the author is losing one of his great loves in life: paragliding. His wrestling to stay alive in ICU is his last great paragliding competition! It is a must read for everyone.

This Man Flies!!!

The author chronicles his experiences during coma (and after) following a tragic paragliding accident nearly killed him, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. While a one star reviewer here missed it, he does a masterful job seamlessly meshing vivid otherworld experiences inside coma with his gradual transition to "normal" consciousness. As a lifelong student of Near Death Experiences (and having a few myself), I was pleasantly surprised with his absense of God/angels.

Perhaps most importantly, this book demonstrates dangerous sports can actually be very much sane activities. During coma, his fantastical experiences centered on paragliding and the fight for recovery. Bare bones flight is tattooed onto this man's soul! He now flies a specially modified light plane (the smallest he can experience).

A book that gives new insight every time it is re-read!

I read the book shortly after it was published in Greek. I could not get it off my hands. It was like nothing I had ever read before - so personal, so touching, so real and surreal at the same time. I read it again about a month ago and I believe it is one of the books that I will never part from during my life; it will always stay close by for me to read it again and again. Thank you, Apostolos, for sharing this experience with us!!

FireDrake is book 5 in the Dragon Knights series. Drake the Bard has returned to Draconia in time to help rescue the kidnapped Prince William. He is reunited with his beloved dragon sister Jenet and a childhood friend and rival Mace who is not a Dragon Knight. Along with the help of the Jinn guardswomen and spy master, a new dragon and knight family is born. The Wizard Griffid creator of the Gryphons is interduced and the story line continues to advance. The companion novella, Wings of Change (I Dream of Dragons I), can be read before or after this installment in the series.

I enjoyed the entire series and have read each and everyone. I did however get tired of the same 'sex' scenario in each book. Realize each can be read as a story complete on it's own but each book was quite similar to the previous. Still enjoyable read.

Great but, too easy.

I loved this book; the story line is interesting and while not entirely original to me, it had enough tweaks to grab my attention. I'm so glad that it did and that I grabbed it. While not the first in this series, yet my first introduction to it and the author, it was very easy to get drawn in. I was able to easily piece the back story together and to determine the different relationships as set forth by the previous books. The author was able to do a very good job of interesting and updating me a new reader while not rehashing all of her previous work and possibly annoying up to date readers which I found impressive and appreciated; at the same time she caught my interest with these characters and I plan on reading their books now.

Now for the winy bit. Why did Krista fall for them so easily?! I would have liked to have seen a little more resistance to her eventual bonding with Drake and Mace. Instead Drake is the winy needy one who is constantly throwing up road blocks and for me that just was annoying; he is supposed to be an alpha male, he needs to act like it. Also, I felt bad for Mace as he seemed to be constantly insecure and overshadowed as a result of all of the attention placed on Drake, as a result I hope that the author will have Krista or Drake show through action how important Mace is to their bonding; he deserves it!

Now that I've had my tantrum, I absolutely fell in love with Lady Janet and would have loved to have had the opportunity to have gotten to know her man better. The fact that I was given the opportunity to develop a relationship with her at all meant a lot as the other titles I have read of a similar story line lacked this and I found that it added a needed aspect to the development of all the characters involved and the actual story.

All in all, I truly enjoyed this read. It was well orchestrated and I was able to get involved with the world very easily. Having said this though I do wish I had started with the first novel and moved from there.
